MCU Binge Watching

12/8/14 For Phase 2, Marvel released a TV Show to go alongside its MCU movies. The show is Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC. The show starts off a few months after the events of the Avengers, and is seamlessly incorporated throughout with all aspects of the films. The guest cameos are fun and all, but the cast itself is pretty good. Early on it seems like the show is starting to drag, but it all pays off later, TRUST...

SpiderFab will change the way Space Structures are Built

[caption id="attachment_566" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Image from http://www.tethers.com/SpiderFab.html[/caption] I was having a conversation with a buddy at CSUN today when a very interesting topic came up.  We were talking about 3D printers and then he mentioned a project that is currently being worked on where robots are being designed to build massive structures in space.  This sounds like something straight out of Star Trek.  As I always do when my curiosity gets the best of me, I went to the nearest...

Benedict Cumberbatch will play Marvel character Doctor Strange

Marvel.com has recently announced that Benedict Cumberbatch will play Doctor Strange in the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 3 movie with the same title.  Apparently he beat out Johnny Depp, Joaquin Phoenix, and Jared Leto. So just who is benedict Cumberbatch?  He is a British actor that has been in many television shows and movies. He is probably best known for playing Sherlock Holmes in the BBC miniseries Sherlock.  This is how I originally learned about him anyway.  By the way,...

[caption id="attachment_544" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Image from dccomics.com[/caption] You may have heard that Warner Bros. is making a new DC Comic book movie named Suicide Squad.  But what exactly is the Suicide Squad?  It must be something big if they have Will Smith cast as one of the characters, right?  I mean, whether you like it or not, he is one of the biggest stars in Hollywood.  Since I am not familiar with this Squad, I decided to do an online...

Star Wars: The Force Awakens – The Facts

I am a big fan of the Star Wars movies and  I was very unhappy when first hearing the news that Disney acquired Lucasfilm in its entirety.   Star Wars just wasn't going to be Star Wars without George Lucas being involved.  It would just be a bunch of generic Sci-fi movies using the Star Wars name and some of their characters.   Simply put, Star Wars is George Lucas.  It is his vision, he is the creator of everything we know...

The MCU and Me.

11/19/14 Let me begin by getting this out of the way: I am going to be discussing the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). I will base my thoughts and words on the history and backstory laid out in the MCU, that includes movies and television. I may use the comic book history just as a point of reference for things we have not been fully informed on. The opinions and speculation herein are just the thoughts of an avid fan. Yours...

Batman VS Bruce Lee

Here's how a recent conversation went: Pauly: Batman does not believe in killing or guns, but he is the pinnacle of human training, physically and mentally.  He is the ultimate human in almost every respect, so he may not have powers, but he has realized human potential.  Batman can defeat any other normal human. Me: I bet Bruce Lee could kick his a$$.  Mano Y Mano So it got me to thinking.  What if the two Bruce’s were to get...

A basic robot toolbox

I'm very excited to learn about robotics.  The best way to learn about robotics, or anything for that matter,  is to actually do it, and it in this case is building a robot.  So I will now attempt to build a simple robot, just to get my feet wet.  My goal is to start off by building a nice and easy  robot that I can easily modify.  I guess I have to decide if I want to build one from...
